Episode 78 | Too Anxious to Vacay? A Checklist
Question
Hi, Work Wives. This is Lily, and I'm living in Queens right now, and I just wanted to know...
How do you deal with the fear of being fired all the time?
I love my job, my company, my coworkers, and even the work I do. It gets busy sometimes, but I still love the work.
Well, a few weeks ago, my manager gave me a project and I was so busy, I finished the work and forgot to turn it back into her. Needless to say, I totally dropped the ball.
I'm on PTO right now and didn't even bring my laptop, so I couldn't log in and turn it in, even if I wanted to. It will have to wait until Monday.
As a woman in tech, I always feel like I don't belong, and while I don't believe this is enough to get fired over, you never know.
How do I deal with this pit in my stomach? She also isn't responding via Slack, probably because I'm supposed to be on PTO, and she said we'd talk Monday about a different matter, which also isn't helping. What should I do?
