Episode 107 | Okay, Boomer...?

Question

Hey Work Wives, it's KatyMae from Montgomery, Alabama. I'm annoyed. I'm a senior manager at my company reporting to a VP who's younger than me, and I know I'm not really supposed to know or judge people's ages, but I feel like someone should be in charge. This VP is a great manager, but more often than not, she keeps coming to me to help her make decisions that, and I hate to say this, it's not my job. It's above my pay grade. Don't worry, I'm already trying to take her job, because I think I can do it better than her, some days. But like, while that's in process, I'm really wondering who is in charge anymore? I don't know that the C-suite is any older than us at this senior manager, VP level either. So, so I don't know. What you got?

Summary

If you look around and do some light math on your C-suite’s LinkedIns, is anyone older than 50? We didn’t think so.

That means there’s no one to blame and there’s no one coming to save you. You’re in charge. Act like it.
