Episode 103 | Changing Careers? Be a Big Fish in a Small Pond

Question

Hi Work Wives! I'm Sasha from Mesa, Arizona, currently in New York. I'm looking for advice on changing career paths. I currently work as a travel nurse recruiter and I want to switch to project management in tech. Have either of you made a similar career change? Any advice on changing careers in general or as project managers? Or do you have any advice or tips or tricks on getting in with no formal project management experience? I recently started the Google Coursera certification in project management. I'm just feeling so unfulfilled in my job and it isn't challenging me in the ways I needed to be challenged. I'm so ready to make the switch, but I'm too nervous to start applying for jobs. Any help would be so appreciated.

Summary

When it comes to changing careers, you gotta start at the bottom. You can learn, burn, and level up quickly, and the best way to do that is in a small market (red feather boa optional).
