Hi Work Wives, this is Abby from Greensboro, North Carolina. I've been freelancing in the event industry for a number of years, and I listen to your podcast and have had some personal things come up in my life. I think it's time for me to maybe go back to Corporate America. I worked in field marketing for a few years right out of college in 2008, but the economy was kind of a shit show, so I decided to do my own thing and it went pretty well. But I think maybe it's time for me to move back into the Corporate America space and try that on for size. And I know you guys give the best advice, so I just wonder if you have any advice around coming back into Corporate America after not having been in it for a minute.

It’s a weird nuance of Corporate America that two titles may seem similar on the outside but are actually remarkably different on the inside.

So whether you’re getting into Corporate America for the first time, coming back after a hiatus, or getting a new title for any reason, ask an expert on the inside what a title means instead of assuming you already know. 

After all, if you know, you know, and if you don’t…you don’t.
