Episode 131 | Is It Okay to Stay at a Company for Longer Than Two Years?
Question
Hey, Work Wives. It's Maddie from Austin, Texas, and I don't know, I think I'm missing something. I like my job. I'm compensated well. It's in a place that I want to be, and I'm getting all my growth markers. Also, my manager is incredible, like, no crisis. But everyone around me, like all my friends and all my girls from college, they're moving jobs every two years, and I can't help but feel like, I don't know if it's like FOMO, but I just don't understand. And some of them I'm like, yeah, you've worked in some pretty shitty jobs. And then, some of them I'm kind of like, you're a shitty person, so I get why you need to move every couple of years. But for me, is there something I should be doing? I'm at two and a half years right now and don't feel the need to go anywhere. But I would love your advice on this. Is there a reason to stick around longer than two years? Let me know.
Summary
Do you really have to job-hop every two years if your job is great, your manager is amazing, and your compensation is *actually* competitive?
